Providence Murekatete

Providence Murekatete is a dedicated and experienced Data Protection and Management Officer currently working at FATE Consulting Ltd. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Rwanda, Nyarugenge Campus (KIST), and brings over five years of field experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. 

Her professional journey includes impactful roles as an Enumerator, Field Moderator, and Supervisor with LG Consult Ltd and Vanguard Economics Ltd, where she contributed to major projects such as the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works, studies on people with disabilities and refugees, and gender-focused assessments including Unpaid Care Work and Women’s Economic Participation in Rwanda. Her experience spans working with vulnerable populations—children, youth, women entrepreneurs, and marginalized communities—through household interviews, phone surveys, and focus group discussions. 

At FATE Consulting Ltd, Providence leads data protection and management efforts for high-impact programs such as the Bandebereho project (in partnership with RWAMREC) and the ECCE initiative. She is responsible for safeguarding data integrity and ensuring confidentiality through privacy compliance protocols and technical support in digital data collection tools.  Her technical background is supported by previous roles in IT maintenance and support, acquired through internships and practical experience at GLOTECH LTD and RALGA. She is proficient in using tools like SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox, and ODK, and has strong skills in MS Office, computer maintenance, and troubleshooting. 

Providence is known for her strong communication skills, teamwork, attention to detail, and punctuality. She is fluent in Kinyarwanda and English, with very good command of French. Her passion lies in contributing to social development and evidence-based decision-making through accurate, ethical, and secure data management.
